Nowadays, many tourists visit China. Shanghai has become one of the most attractive places, a city by which the whole country is judged. Perhaps this is not entirely fair, but this metropolis is definitely worth a visit.

Once upon a time in our country there was a tradition to call slum areas "Shanghai" or even "Shanghai". Now such an idea of this city as a crowded collection of squalid shacks is outdated. This word is used by those who have not visited China for a long time or never. Shanghai has become an ultra-modern metropolis that surprises and delights.

Skyscrapers, multi-level flyovers, glowing neon advertising lights, in a word, all the outward signs of economic prosperity that China has experienced in recent decades. Shanghai and Hong Kong have become the front gates to the new Celestial Empire, which has become the world's industrial workshop. And if the former English colony owes part of its appearance to Western civilization, then Shanghai became what it became, solely thanks to the labor of the Chinese.

Already on approaching the city, huge industrialareas filled with smoke from numerous chimneys.

The state-of-the-art multi-terminal airport impresses with its size and the way it connects to the city center. The malev maglev train (short for "magnetic levitation") also looks like the cabin of an airliner inside and moves at a speed worthy of it. It develops over five hundred kilometers per hour, according to the digital speedometer installed in each car above the door, and in a matter of minutes overcomes a distance of more than forty kilometers to the metro station. The ticket is inexpensive, about five dollars.

This is China now. Shanghai continues to surprise with its metro: it is crowded, but clean and orderly everywhere.

The taxi service works very well, it is relatively inexpensive and works exclusively on a taximeter (the driver issues a receipt).

There are many places worth visiting when you come to Shanghai. Attractions are varied. This is the Aquarium, in which strange inhabitants of the ocean depths float above the heads of visitors walking or riding on moving conveyor belts through tunnels made of thick glass, and the Museum of Science and Technology, which occupies a huge task in the “techno” style with specialized halls and entire pavilions depicting climatic zones from the tundra to the jungle.

There are also interesting layouts of the structures of atoms, and intelligible models for demonstrating the transfer of information in binary code, and much more. You can touch everything with your hands, and children are even allowedclimb all over it!

Another place worth visiting is the Shanghai TV Center or the "Pearl of the East". Rise on a high-speed elevator and the opportunity to look at the city from a height of more than four hundred meters costs one hundred yuan. It's inexpensive, about twelve US dollars. The view is beautiful and impressive. The television center is very close to the Aquarium.

Don't go to the Aerospace Museum, although there is such a metro station. It's far away, and the museum was never built.

This is Shanghai. China, of course, is not all so modern, you can see this by driving a hundred or two kilometers from the metropolis.

Therefore, the streets of Shanghai are filled with people vying for low-cost services such as massages, shopping assistance, and so on.
