Brest is located in the south-west of Belarus, on the border with Poland. It was this hero city that was the first to take the blow of the Nazi army in 1941. Subsequently, the Brest Fortress received the title of "hero", as a sign of memory and boundless respect for all those who died on its territory, and became a cult memorial site known throughout the former Soviet Union.

History of the station

The station was built in the 19th century under Tsar Alexander. The station building resembled a fortress and was considered one of the largest and most beautiful in the then Russian Empire. Under the personal control of Stalin, the station was restored to its former power and strength in the post-war years. During the 20th century, the station was completed and reconstructed. The last large-scale reconstruction was carried out in 2008-2014.

The railway station "Brest-Central" is included in the list of UNESCO monuments and is an architectural monument of Belarus. In 2016, it celebrated its 130th anniversary. Changes after reconstruction

In 2014, the reconstruction of the Brest railway station was completed. The station was improved, comfort increased, the level of equipment and service approached the European one. On the main routes, tactile tiles were laid for the visually impaired, the tiles on the sidewalks, old benches, fences, lampposts were replaced.

All signs with information, as well as the board with the timetable of the "Brest-Central" trains, are posted in English and Belarusian. Ticket offices have been updated. There is an English-speaking ticket office in the international box office.
