An interesting architectural idea in the park is the Apollo colonnade, located at the entrance. Initially, it represented closed columns, and in the middle was a statue of the Greek god of arts - Apollo. Later the composition was moved to the shorerivers, where the water flow washed the foot of the Colonnade, creating an ancient Greek picture of Mount Parnassus, the home of Apollo. After a landslide, which happened during the reign of the emperor, part of the composition collapsed, but this did not spoil the colonnade, but on the contrary, gave it a mythical and mysterious look.

Not so long ago, a monument to the famous Austrian composer Johann Strauss appeared in the park. It was a gift to St. Petersburg from the Austrian head for the celebration of the city's tercentenary. The monument is a reduced copy of the composer's sculpture, which is installed in Vienna.

This is not the whole list of places that Pavlovsk is famous for. St. Petersburg, whose sights are known all over the world, is annually visited by crowds of tourists. People who come to Pavlovsk can extend their excursion to the city of Pushkin, which is located very close.

The Alexander Palace will amaze you with its grandeur and splendor - it is a masterpiece of architectural creation. Marveling at the power and beauty of the building, looking through the windows, you will hear music with your inner ear, it will seem that you see ladies dancing at a ball, gentlemen discussing the last hunt. Looking around, in a slight daze, you wait for the appearance of the emperor himself.

Pavlovsk (Leningrad region), whose sights are known all over the world, is always glad to see guests. All the most interesting and noteworthy objects, one way or another, are concentrated near the imperial palace.

Gate to the city

The first to meet tourists is the railway station, so to speak, the gate to the city. The building was built in the 1950s in the Stalinist Empire style, but this did not prevent the structure from organically merging into the architectural ensemble of the royal city.

Leaving the station and finding themselves on Sadovaya Street, city guests will stumble upon Stein's dacha. This is a beautiful building, made in modern style, bright purple color. Now a private music school is located in the mansion, a linden grove spreads around the dacha, which during flowering brings a pleasant and unique fragrance.

Further on, the street is decorated with Cast Iron Gates or, as they are commonly called, Nikolaev Gates. The gate is located on the road leading from Pavlovsk to Tsarskoe Selo.

Cathedral of St. Nicholas

The Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, created in honor of Emperor Paul the First, will surprise guests with its beauty. When looking at the cathedral, thoughts arise about his beautiful outfit, about the festive decoration. There is peace and quiet inside the temple, every parishioner feels grace and peace - it seems that Nicholas the Wonderworker himself is nearby and listens to the prayers of the laity.

The royal suburb surprises with its beauty at any time of the year, but the most amazing sight comes in the autumn, when nature itself decorates the trees. The natural décor complements the most beautiful historical sites in an extraordinary way.
