You can notice this by drivingby rental car or scooter along the coast: flat road, mountain serpentines, beaches with gray, yellow or pebble sand, hills strewn with olive trees and rocky cliffs.

The island of Corfu, whose attractions are so touted by travel agencies and guidebooks, can be traveled around in a day, but at the same time, it will take much more time to get to know it. To begin with, you can estimate its size by climbing to the highest point of the island - Mount Pantokrator. Its height cannot be called solid, it did not even reach one kilometer, but it offers a magnificent view. You can get there by tourist bus, scooter or car. There is also a television tower.

On the west coast of Corfu is the town of Paleokastritsa with an amazingly beautiful beach and water, the color of which varies from deep blue to delicate turquoise. On a small boat you can take a pleasant walk along the coast, visit the rocky grottoes and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. The whole town is clearly visible from the observation deck, located at an altitude of about five hundred meters. It's amazing how large tourist buses manage to navigate such narrow and winding mountain roads.

Moving north, it is impossible to refrain from visiting the town of Sidari, famous for its "channels of love", formed as a result of erosion of the coast by sea waters. A romantic place where all lovers who come to the island aspire to go.

Having a rest in Corfu, the sights of which are very numerous, it makes sense to rent a car for a few days and, having developed a route, drive around the island for your pleasure, because there really is something to see there. Corfu (Greece): attractions of the capital of the island

Resting on Kerkyra (the second name of the island), you should definitely visit its capital - the city of the same name. The minimum distance to the coast is less than five kilometers, and this has largely determined the history of Corfu. During the tour, you can learn about who tried to conquer the island at different times and who prevented this. The Greeks are very fond of telling the story of salvation from the French invaders, which ended successfully thanks to the help of the Russian military, led by Admiral Nakhimov. No wonder they welcome Russian guests so warmly.

The city is rich in museums, historical monuments, Orthodox churches. Its architecture is quite traditional and original. Local authorities banned the construction of high-rise buildings in Corfu, so that its appearance was not spoiled by the same type of high-rise buildings.
